Our client is looking for a business analyst in its Business Solutions Group to support a wide array of initiatives for the various local and global groups in Investment Guideline Compliance. This person would implement short term tactical solutions by identifying areas of inefficiency, designing enhanced practical work flows, and building custom queries and macros to automate manual processes. This individual would interface with our Technology department while spearheading and managing all phases of a project from a long term perspective; including but not limited to gathering business user requirements, writing specification documents, developing application prototypes, monitoring application launches, collecting and incorporating business users' feedback, and tracking performance metrics. Job Requirements: • An undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, or Finance is required for this role. • 3+ years of experience with a large and diverse investment management firm with a background in equities, fixed income, compliance, and technology. • Proven track record of success and a series of progressive roles in compliance, operations, technology, and/or related functions. • Strong programming knowledge in MS Access and MS Excel VBA required. • Strong background in Oracle/Sybase SQL and databases. • Excellent working knowledge of Bloomberg, MS Access, MS Excel, and Oracle/Sybase SQL. • Experience implementing and working with SharePoint as a document management system and SSRS reporting. • Possess strong analytical ability and excellent attention to detail. • Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, and capable of managing multiple tasks with tight time deadlines. • Problem solving and practical decision making skills are essential. • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, senior level management, and subject matter experts. • Previous experience in the following areas is a plus; technology at an investment management firm, guideline compliance with programming experience, project manager with programming experience. • CFA designation or active status in the CFA program is a plus.
