The HR Systems Technical Owner is responsible for:

  • Lead all technical decisions and direction for the HR information systems (Success Factors, ADP etc.) at HMH
  • Provide overall Technical leadership and direction for HRIS TG team members (both project and support activities)
  • Consults with and provides guidance to HR partners regarding effective systems design and tool deployment
  • Supports the company's integrated Human Resource Information System, via implementations, enhancements, integrations, configuration, issue resolution, security administration, testing and other technical projects as assigned
  • Work with HR stakeholders to understand requirements that meet the business needs and provide effective HR systems solutions
  • Take a lead role for major and minor business system programs for key HMH initiatives (e.g. HCM Success Factors Implementation.)
  • Supports the company's integrated Human Resource Information System, via implementations, enhancements, integrations, configuration, issue resolution, security administration, testing and other technical projects as assigned
  • Direction – Provide and lead strategic multi-year roadmap direction that is in alignment with enterprise objectives. Help set technical direction on a quarterly and annual basis for all HRIS systems. Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to align HRIS systems to HMH roadmap and enterprise priorities.  Provide continuous thought leadership to team.
  • Thought Leadership –Identify opportunities for improvement and increase “out of the box” usage of existing HRIS systems.  Evaluate products, technologies and vendors.  Review options and make recommendations in alignment with enterprise objectives and departmental roadmaps.  Assess people, process and technology.  Provide cost justifications for additional tools, technologies and staff.
  • Consultancy –Assisting with support and project engagements to document technical requirements for HRIS Systems and Programs
  • Collaboration – Work with peers and vendors. Regularly interact with senior management or executives.  Change perspective of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations without damaging relationships

 

Requirements:

  • B.S. in related field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or relevant industry experience
  • Minimum of 10 years experience
  • Multi-Tasker

  • Best practices / Standards

  • Planning

  • Collaboration

  • HRIS System Experience (Success Factors)

  • Leadership & people management skills

  • Program Management Experience with HRIS projects

  • Training (and/or certification) on assigned HRIS System (e.g. Success Factors)

 

Preferred:

  • Team member of large HRIS enterprise programs
  • Past consulting experience
  • Agile Training or certification

  • PMP or related certification

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing)
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings
