Key Responsibilities:
- Support multiple NPI and CPI programs through complete design and development of mechanical light-fabrication systems. · Perform packaging and integration activities with various vehicle sub-systems.
- Contribute to the design and development of light-fabricated components, including sheet-metal parts and castings. ·
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD models to support design, prototype, and production phases. ·
- Support DfX, FMEA, and DVP&R activities throughout all development phases.
- Support engineering change management processes, including documentation control and release workflows. ·
- Apply and follow CAT standards, engineering guidelines, and best practices in all design work. · Drive cross-functional alignment by collaborating with manufacturing, quality, CAE/testing teams, suppliers, and other engineering groups.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and design development in Heavy equipment products
- Experience supporting NPI and/or CPI engineering programs.
- Hands-on experience designing sheet-metal, welded, and light-fabricated components.
- Experience with vehicle-level system packaging and integration.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD modeling tools ( Creo and Team center).
- Experience with DfX, FMEA, and DVP&R processes and · Familiarity with engineering documentation control and change management systems.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of light-fabrication processes such as sheet-metal forming, casting, and welding.
- Knowledge of CAT standards, industry guidelines, and design best practices (preferred).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
