Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and execution-driven Logistics Lead to support the Boston Center of Excellence as a global logistics hub. This role will be responsible for managing international import/export operations across the US, China, and other global regions, ensuring compliant, efficient, and timely movement of research materials.

This position is critical to enabling seamless execution of global CRO projects and offers a clear path to grow into a Logistics Manager role within 12–18 months based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

Global Import & Export Management

Coordinate international shipments across the US, China, and other regions (EU, APAC, etc.)

Manage movement of biological samples, chemical compounds, reagents, and related materials

Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (FDA, CDC, IATA, customs, export controls)

Prepare and review all shipping documentation (commercial invoices, SDS/MSDS, permits)

Cross-site & Cross-region Coordination

Act as the primary logistics interface between Boston, China, and global teams

Align shipment timelines with scientific and project requirements

Proactively resolve customs clearance issues, delays, and documentation gaps

Vendor & Courier Management

Manage relationships with global logistics providers (e.g., FedEx, DHL, World Courier)

Select appropriate shipping solutions based on cost, speed, and material sensitivity

Ensure proper tracking, chain-of-custody, and temperature control where required

Inventory & Sample Management

Track inbound and outbound materials across regions

Support labeling, re-labeling, and reconciliation processes

Ensure proper handling and storage upon receipt

Process Optimization & Hub Development

Develop and refine SOPs for global logistics workflows

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost, and turnaround time

Support the build-out of Boston as a centralized global logistics hub

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field

1–3 years of experience in international logistics, preferably within CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical environments

Hands-on experience with multi-country import/export operations

Familiarity with biological or chemical material handling preferred

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and execution skills

Ability to work across time zones in a global organization

Language Requirement

Mandarin Chinese (fluent) – required

English (professional working proficiency) – required
