A client of Insight Global is looking for a high-volume manufacturer-facing engineering professional supporting operations that use a wide range of materials such as fiberglass, foam, cast PUR foam, resonated cotton, PET felt, aluminized steel, stainless steel, aluminum, E-glass, and material combinations for diverse applications. This role supports the production of heat shields, hood liners, dashboards, and tunnels for major automotive OEMs including Stellantis, Toyota, Honda, GMC, Ford, and others.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safety-first mindset while adhering to all safety policies and procedures
- Design, draft, and support electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems for manufacturing equipment including robots, molding presses, and trimming presses
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC logic, sequencing, and timing controls
- Program, troubleshoot, and touch up industrial robots (FANUC, MOTORMAN, and/or ABB)
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and vendors to review schematics, machine functionality, and ensure proper equipment operation
- Coordinate tooling maintenance through PMs and tooling work orders
- Improve and enhance existing equipment to drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop, maintain, and improve setup and process procedures for tooling and manufacturing equipment
- Assist with engineering projects, equipment layout updates, and machinery moves on the production floor
- Maintain up-to-date equipment drawings and plant layouts
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree
- 5+ years of advanced maintenance or controls experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
- Experience with PLCs, robotics, and AutoCAD
- Ability to work under pressure, make sound decisions, and meet quality and time standards
- Proficient computer skills (Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to safely operate hand, air, and power tools and manufacturing equipment
- Required vision abilities including peripheral vision and depth perception
