Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Koral Mfg is looking for an individual in a highly visible role at an aerospace parts production facility. As a Machining Engineer, you will be responsible for creating NC programs from 3D models for Aerospace clients, creating your fixtures designs, procuring tooling, proving your programs on CNC Swiss, Lathe & Mill machines for First Piece Article submission. You will be working with a team of highly talented machinists that guide you with their work experience in achieving this goal. Performs Swiss lathe, CNC lathe and mill set-ups with tight tolerance, high quality parts with low and high volume production runs, in accordance with approved drawings.
Competency:
– Trained in Geometric Dimension and Tolerance, proficient in blueprint reading
– Knowledge of machining variety of material- steel, aluminum etc. speeds and feeds, 2D & 3D toolpaths
– Mastercam software experience is needed. Any other software experience will serve as an advantage. Software training will be provided for right candidate.
– Extensive CNC lathe and mill skills – Nomura Swiss, Okuma Lathe & Haas Mill experience added advantage
– Has thorough knowledge of inserts and tooling use, fixture designing for good work holding.
– Good knowledge and experience in programming for CNC lathes/mills and able to verify their accuracy
Responsibilities:
– Work in CAD/CAM Environment for new and existing jobs, creates 3D models, programs.
– Work on setting up new or complicated programs on CNC machines to meet part drawing spec complete.
– Create fixture and review/order tooling for various jobs, manage tooling and fixture crib database.
– Develop documentation like set-up instructions, job box etc. and monitor to improve setup and run time, write/edit new programs, strive for minimal burr and low scrap.
– Participate in advanced quality planning, job progress, and quality review meetings.
– Verify and Provide engineering documentation to machinists for existing programs, work on solving daily machining issues and enhancing production throughput.
– Identify issues, participate in continuous improvement for efficient system, monitor changes.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills in dealing with customers and suppliers
– Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
