Vice President, Human Resources & Compliance

Travel: Occasional travel for new site launches

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a practical, hands-on Human Resources leader to manage HR operations and labor compliance across a growing, multi-state healthcare organization. This role works closely with executive leadership while actively managing HR policies, employee relations, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day HR functions.

Key Duties

  • Act as a strategic HR partner and advisor to executive and operational leadership
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, overtime rules, FMLA, ADA, PTO, and employee classification requirements
  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
  • Handle complex employee relations matters and oversee internal investigations when needed
  • Supervise and guide current HR team members
  • Provide HR support for healthcare service lines
  • Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning, organizational structure, and hiring strategy
  • Offer performance coaching, leadership support, and employee development guidance
  • Assist with HR planning and compliance during new site launches and geographic expansion

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Experience supporting organizations operating across multiple states and locations
  • Strong understanding of employment regulations and labor compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Hands-on management approach with strong operational focus
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship management skills
  • Bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience required
  • HR certification such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred
