Occupational Therapist
Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Acute Care
Location: Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Pay Rate: $2,470/week
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift - 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (1 weekend/month)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) for an acute care setting in Hattiesburg, MS. This role involves delivering patient-centered therapy services to help individuals regain independence and improve functional outcomes across pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations using functional tests and clinical assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals
- Provide therapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, and daily functioning
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, safety, and adaptive techniques
- Accurately document patient progress in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care
- Manage an average of 7 patient sessions per day
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Active OT license
- Minimum experience:
- 1 year acute care experience, OR
- 2 years SNF/Inpatient Rehab, OR
- Equivalent part-time acute care experience
- 2 hours of CVA-specific continuing education (within last 4 months)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems

- Operation of assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.)
- Use of modalities (moist heat, paraffin, etc.)
Work Environment
- Acute care hospital setting
- Team includes 3 OTs and 1 COTA
- No floating required
- Moderate to high physical activity (lifting up to 50 lbs)
