Position Overview
Provisio EHS is hiring a full-time On-Site Safety Representative to support an industrial construction project near Lafayette, AR. This W-2 role is based on-site and is responsible for daily safety oversight, field presence, and supporting project management and subcontractors to maintain a safe, compliant jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily site safety walkthroughs to identify hazards, verify controls, and ensure compliance with OSHA and project-specific requirements.
- Lead and document site safety orientations for all new workers and visitors.
- Review and verify Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for high-risk activities (e.g., steel erection, crane operations, excavation, hot work).
- Administer and oversee the hot work permit process, including verification of fire watch and protective measures.
- Review crane and critical lift plans and participate in pre-task planning for high-risk work.
- Participate in and occasionally lead toolbox talks and safety meetings with the project team and subcontractors.
- Conduct incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and documentation of corrective actions.
- Assist with OSHA recordkeeping, safety documentation, and weekly safety reporting.
- Enforce project safety policies and exercise stop-work authority when necessary to prevent injury or damage.
- Communicate effectively with Provisio EHS leadership, the general contractor, and client representatives regarding safety issues, trends, and recommendations.
Schedule and Compensation
- Location: Lafayette, AR area.
- Employment type: W-2, full time.
- Pay range: 45–55 dollars per hour, depending on experience.
- Overtime: 1.5x hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
- Expected hours: Average 50–60 hours per week.
- Schedule: Primarily day shift, with nights and weekends required as project needs dictate.
Qualifications
- OSHA 500 (Construction Industry Trainer) required.
- 3+ years of safety experience in industrial or commercial construction.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and common construction safety practices.
- Experience with JHAs, incident investigations, and hot work, crane, and excavation safety.
- Ability to walk the site extensively, work in varying weather conditions, and enter active construction areas.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coach workers and influence supervisors and subcontractors.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing documentation and reporting.
