Accounting Manager

A nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for a portfolio of housing entities. This role reports to senior leadership and plays a key part in financial reporting, budgeting, audit preparation, and team management.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor a small team
• Oversee month-end close, including journal entries, general ledger review, and reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budget variance reports, and forecasts
• Review bank reconciliations, AR activity, and intercompany transactions
• Support audit processes, including preparation of workpapers and schedules
• Collaborate on budgeting and financial planning for multiple projects/entities
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and reporting requirements for stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within nonprofit
• Prior supervisory experience managing a team
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, audits, and budget management
• Advanced Excel skills
• Ability to manage multiple entities/projects in a deadline-driven environment
