Location: San Juan, PR (Onsite)
Team: Finance & Accounting
Employment Type: Temporary (through peak season/end of year)
Pay Rate: $17/hour (flexible up to $19–$20/hour based on experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to support Accounts Receivable operations and broader accounting functions. This role focuses on invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and financial data analysis, while also supporting vendor invoicing and the monthly close process. The ideal candidate is proactive, tech-savvy, and comfortable leveraging automation and AI tools to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue accurate, timely customer invoices
  • Manage accounts receivable, including aging reports and discrepancy resolution
  • Process deposits and apply customer payments to appropriate accounts
  • Reconcile monthly deposit transactions (BPPR account)
  • Perform revenue reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support monthly accounting close, including reconciliations and reporting
  • Analyze financial data (extraction, transformation, reporting)
  • Identify process improvements and leverage automation/AI tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Customer Service) to resolve billing issues
  • Process vendor invoices, apply tax withholding, and code expenses per budget and chart of accounts
  • Create and maintain vendor records as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of Accounts Receivable or related accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or similar)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Experience using AI tools for productivity and data analysis
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Fully bilingual (English & Spanish)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in financial data analysis or business intelligence
  • Familiarity with automation tools and process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
