Business Litigation Associate
Location: Irvine, CA
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 base salary (DOE) and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.)
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire, Onsite
LHH is working with a well-established law firm in Irvine seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing litigation practice. This role is primarily focused on business and commercial litigation, with some exposure to trust and estate litigation matters. The ideal candidate is a strong litigator who can manage matters collaboratively, draft and argue motions, and assist with cases from inception through resolution. Trial experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Handle business and commercial litigation matters from pleadings through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and written discovery in state and federal courts
- Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and meet-and-confer efforts
- Take and defend depositions and assist with mediation and settlement preparation
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and related proceedings as needed
- Support trust and estate litigation matters, including contested trust and probate disputes
- Work closely with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and client communication
- Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines across multiple matters
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in business or commercial litigation
- Experience with motion practice, discovery, and depositions
- Exposure to trust and estate litigation is a plus but not required
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in an onsite office environment
