Supplier Quality Engineer Location: Auburn Hills, MI Schedule: 1st shift, full-time, on-site Pay: $43.08/hour Job Summary We are hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer for a full-time, on-site opportunity in Auburn Hills, MI. This Supplier Quality Engineer role is ideal for candidates with automotive manufacturing, supplier quality, APQP, launch, tooling, or component engineering experience who can support supplier performance, cost improvement, and product quality from development through production. The Supplier Quality Engineer will work closely with suppliers, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to review components, drawings, process controls, and supplier readiness while helping drive quality, cost, and launch success. If you have a background in automotive components, supplier management, root cause analysis, and manufacturing process improvement, this Supplier Quality Engineer role offers strong long-term potential. Responsibilities Support supplier quality activities for automotive components across body, interior, chassis, electrical systems, and powertrain Review drawings, specifications, process flows, control plans, PFMEA, and component requirements Drive APQP , supplier readiness, launch support, and production quality improvement Partner with suppliers to address quality issues, corrective actions, containment, and root cause analysis Support review of tooling, manufacturing processes, and component build methods Work cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and supplier teams to improve quality and reduce risk Monitor supplier performance metrics, quality trends, and issue resolution progress Support benchmarking, value improvement, and cost reduction initiatives tied to supplier quality and manufacturing performance Ensure documentation, reporting, and communication are accurate and timely throughout the product lifecycle Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry or a related engineering environment Experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, APQP, launch, quality systems, or component engineering Strong understanding of automotive components, drawings, tooling, manufacturing processes, and supplier quality controls Experience with PFMEA, control plans, corrective actions, root cause analysis, 8D, PPAP, and supplier development Background in purchasing support, supplier communication, cost awareness, or product/process improvement is highly relevant Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment This role is a strong fit for candidates searching for Supplier Quality Engineer jobs , Automotive Supplier Quality Engineer jobs , Quality Engineer jobs , APQP Engineer jobs , and Manufacturing Quality Engineer jobs in Auburn Hills, MI. *
