Part‐Time Accounting Generalist (1 Day per Week)

About the Role

We’re looking for a detail‐oriented Accounting Generalist to support our local government clients one day per week. The role begins with a focus on Accounts Payable and can expand into broader accounting responsibilities based on experience and performance. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‐on work, values accuracy, and is comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable: enter vendor bills, verify approvals, and prepare weekly payments
• Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online)
• Code and track expenses; organize digital and physical documentation
• Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, statements, and payment status
• Support general accounting tasks as needed

Potential expanded responsibilities (based on experience)

• Payroll support
• Month‐end close activities
• Financial reporting assistance
• Budget tracking and analysis

Qualifications

• 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal oversight
• Professional communication skills

Work Environment & Schedule

• On‐site in the Barrington / Inverness area
• One day per week; flexible scheduling
• Additional hours may be available as the role grows

Compensation

• Hourly rate based on experience. (Starting $30 - $40 per hour).
• Opportunity for expanded responsibilities and hours over time.
