Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on designing innovative electronics packaging and thermal management solutions for advanced applications.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing mechanical designs for complex electronic systems. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, reliable products that meet stringent technical and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design and develop mechanical structures for electronics packaging using SOLIDWORKS

- Create thermal management solutions including heat sinks, thermal interface materials, and cooling systems

- Perform thermal analysis and simulation to validate design performance

- Generate detailed drawings, specifications, and design documentation

- Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders

- Collaborate with electrical engineers, manufacturing, and quality teams

- Support prototype development and testing activities

- Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and regulations

- Troubleshoot and implement design improvements based on testing results

- Maintain design documentation and version control

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

- 5+ years of professional mechanical design experience

- Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings)

- Strong understanding of electronics packaging design principles

- Experience with thermal analysis and heat transfer concepts

- Excellent documentation and technical writing skills

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost optimization

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- U.S. citizen or permanent resident (ITAR compliance requirement)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with space or military electronics applications

- Knowledge of thermal simulation software (ANSYS, CFD, etc.)

- Experience with high-reliability electronics standards (MIL-SPEC, DO-254, etc.)

- Familiarity with vibration and shock analysis

- Experience with PCB design and component-level packaging

- Project management experience

- Experience with rapid prototyping and manufacturing technologies
