Were looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Human Resources Manager to own the full caregiver lifecycle, from recruiting and onboarding to compliance, training, and ongoing engagement.
For more than 18 years, our locally owned Visiting Angels agency has provided exceptional non-medical home care to families across Los Angeles County. Our experienced and dedicated caregivers possess the training and expertise reflective of our longstanding commitment to senior care.
This is a part-time, hybrid role ideal for someone who can work remotely but is willing to come into the office for interviews, onboarding, and file management. Youll play a critical role in ensuring we consistently hire high-quality caregivers while maintaining full regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Hiring
- Source and identify qualified caregiver candidates through multiple channels
- Manage and maintain candidate pipelines and lead portals
- Conduct virtual interviews and evaluate candidate fit
- Conduct in-person interviews (in partnership with leadership)
- Support and guide candidates through the hiring process
Onboarding & Compliance
- Assist new hires with HCA (Home Care Aide) registration
- Ensure all caregiver credentials remain active and compliant (HCA, TB tests, etc.)
- Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready caregiver files
- Stay current on California labor laws and home care regulations
Training & Development
- Lead new hire orientation and onboarding training
- Coordinate and deliver ongoing and annual training programs
- Maintain training logs, certifications, and compliance documentation
- Ensure all caregivers meet training and continuing education requirements
Caregiver Management & Engagement
- Serve as a point of contact for caregiver issues, performance feedback, and support
- Handle disciplinary actions, including write-ups and terminations when necessary
- Recognize and reinforce strong caregiver performance
- Conduct regular check-ins to maintain engagement and retention
Scheduling & Systems Coordination
- Maintain and update caregiver profiles in ATS and HR systems
- Input and manage detailed caregiver data, including:
- Availability and scheduling preferences
- Skills, experience, and certifications
- Documentation, photos, and payroll information
- Ensure all caregiver information is accurate and accessible for scheduling and on-call staff
- Regularly update caregiver availability to support efficient shift coverage
Work Schedule & Expectations
- Primarily remote, with weekly in-office presence for in-person interviews
- Expected in-office availability for:
- In-person interviews
- File organization and compliance checks
- Team coordination
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in HR, recruiting, or caregiver staffing, (experience in healthcare and elder care a plus!)
- Strong understanding of caregiver compliance requirements in California
- Experience with ATS/HR systems
- Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
