Accountant

Spotlight is currently hiring several Accountants with experience in SAP to support financial operations, reporting, and compliance. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and leveraging SAP systems to streamline accounting processes and ensure data integrity.

This role will be a hybrid on-site (2 days/week) position in Falls Church, VA. These are 12-month contract opportunities. Candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting
• Manage accounts payable/receivable functions as needed
• Support audit processes (internal and external) by providing documentation and explanations
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, company policies, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and IT teams to improve workflows

Qualifications

• 1–7 years of accounting experience (varies by level)
• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP systems
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or progress toward certification
• Experience in month-end close and financial audits
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA
• Experience in a corporate or multi-entity environment
