Job Summary:

Station 31 Partners’ affiliate, MTAG Services, is seeking a highly motivated Specialty Finance Portfolio Analyst to join our team. We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Specialty Finance Portfolio Analyst to support the oversight and performance monitoring of portfolios serviced across our platform. This role sits at the intersection of third-party servicing, backup servicing, special servicing, and structured asset administration, providing critical insights into asset performance, servicing quality, and compliance with transaction requirements.

The analyst will play a key role in monitoring collateral performance, validating servicing activities, tracking covenants, and supporting transition and onboarding of new portfolios, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and adherence to client and deal-level requirements.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio & Collateral Performance Monitoring

  • Analyze portfolio performance across serviced assets, including delinquencies, defaults, recoveries, and prepayments
  • Monitor collateral pools across various specialty finance asset classes (CPACE, Structured Settlements, Specialty Receivables, Tax Liens, Litigation Finance, etc.)
  • Identify performance trends, anomalies, and emerging credit risks

Servicing Oversight (Primary, Backup & Special Servicing)

  • Review and validate servicer reporting for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Monitor servicing activities including collections, modifications, and loss mitigation efforts
  • Support backup servicing readiness, including data mapping, file validation, and system reconciliation
  • Assist in special servicing scenarios, including distressed asset management and workout tracking

Covenant & Compliance Tracking

  • Track and monitor compliance with deal covenants, borrowing base requirements, and eligibility criteria
  • Maintain covenant dashboards and trigger reporting for structured transactions (e.g., securitizations, warehouse facilities)
  • Escalate breaches or potential issues to internal teams and clients

Collateral Verification & Custodian Support

  • Support collateral verification processes, including loan file reviews and data validation
  • Review asset performance, eligibility, and enforceability
  • Coordinate with custodians to ensure proper documentation, lien perfection, and asset eligibility
  • Assist in audits and third-party due diligence reviews

Transition & Onboarding Management

  • Participate in onboarding new portfolios, including data intake, reconciliation, and system setup
  • Support servicing transfers and transition events, ensuring data integrity and operational continuity
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure smooth migration between servicers or platforms

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain recurring reporting packages for clients, trustees, and internal stakeholders
  • Build dashboards to track portfolio KPIs, servicing metrics, and compliance indicators
  • Analyze large datasets from servicing systems, trustees, and third-party providers

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Identify gaps in servicing data, reporting, and controls; recommend improvements
  • Support development of standardized procedures across servicing, verification, and reporting functions
  • Assist in automation and enhancement of reporting workflows

Requirements:

· Healthy interest in asset-based lending and finance.

· Knowledge of loan servicing systems and processes, including loan accounting and reporting requirements

· Familiarity with loan documentation, including loan agreements, security agreements, and collateral documents.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and accurately.

· Attention to detail and accuracy.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related field.

· Experience in loan servicing, asset management, or finance related field.

· Familiarity with real estate transactions and real estate closings.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

This is a full-time position in-office position at our CorporateOffice located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Salary based on experience.
