Job Title: Patient Coordinator - Arabic Fluency
Location: New York, NY (Onsite)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (EST)
Pay Range: $28 - $39 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a Patient Coordinator to serve as the primary point of contact for international patients receiving care. This role involves managing the full patient journey-from initial inquiry and medical record review to coordinating services, facilitating communication with healthcare providers, and ensuring seamless follow-up after treatment.
The ideal candidate will provide personalized support, assist with logistical arrangements, and deliver a high level of service in a culturally sensitive manner to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main liaison between patients, physicians, and hospital departments throughout the care process
- Coordinate physician appointments and develop care plans based on patient needs
- Communicate treatment plans, cost estimates, and administrative details to patients and families
- Arrange travel, accommodation, and transportation logistics for international patients
- Provide on-site support, including patient orientation and assistance during visits
- Offer real-time Arabic-English interpretation during appointments and hospital services
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Address patient concerns and ensure timely resolution through coordination with internal teams
- Manage post-care follow-up, including communication after patients return home
- Provide updates to financial guarantors such as embassies or insurance providers
- Participate in daily team huddles and support departmental initiatives, including marketing activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, International Relations, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in patient services, healthcare, hospitality, or a related field with direct client interaction
- Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical interpretation certification (Arabic) or completion of 40+ hours of interpreter training
- Experience supporting international patients or working in a cross-cultural healthcare setting
