What You Can Expect


As our Facilities Intern, in Boston, MA at ENGIE's Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP) located in Boston, MA, you will be responsible for assisting the Operations Department manager with all aspects of developing and managing operation programs pertaining to OSHA regulations and state and federal environmental requirements, including trap program, procedure review, log sheets review and storage, organizing computer manual and drives, and emergency responses. This position reports to the Operations Manager. The internship work term will be from June 1, 2026 - August 21, 2026.

  • Aid in the development and completion of environmental and safety metrics, safety equipment inventories, and inspections geared to reducing injuries and risk


What You'll Bring



  • You are an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Facilities Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering or Marine Engineering at an accepted four-year university


Additional Details



  • This role requires attendance at a works site on a daily basis

  • You can work at least forty hours of consistently-scheduled availability within standard working hours (7:30am - 4pm) in Eastern Standard time, Monday - Friday. Exact hours are negotiable

  • You are proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • You are confident in your oral and written communication skills

  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license

  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

  • This position consists of less than 10% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to some weather conditions

  • Must be able to work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facility's grounds or at satellite facilities

  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements


Compensation


Hourly Range: $24.50 to $25.50 USD hourly


This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
