Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting team as a Corporate Accounting Intern. This internship offers hands-on experience in corporate accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting within a fast-paced corporate environment. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining insight into various aspects of financial management and contributing to the overall success of the finance department.

What You'll Own:

  • Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
  • Support month-end processes (journal entries, reconciliations, documentation) on our easier entities that typically do not have much happening.
  • Prepare and maintain ad hoc Excel schedules and basic financial reports WMRE & Property Billings vs Payments
  • Assist with account reconciliations and variance analysis WMRE & Property AR vs AP
  • Review current SOPs on all tasks. Make sure they are fully comprehensive and suggest any adjustments or additions.
Qualifications

  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure adherence to established deadlines.

What You'll Bring:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong academic record with coursework in accounting principles, financial reporting, and/or corporate finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
