HR & EHS Manager Aerospace Manufacturing Facility
An international aerospace manufacturing company is seeking an HR & EHS Manager to lead both the Human Resources function and the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs for its facility in Markesan, WI. This role serves as a strategic and hands-on partner to plant leadership, overseeing HR operations, driving talent strategies, strengthening workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with all labor, safety, and environmental regulations. The position plays a critical role in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, compensation processes, safety management, risk prevention, and continuous improvement to support a safe, engaging, and growth-oriented workplace.
Location United States: Relocation to Markesan, WI is required (relocation support provided). Work Arrangement This position follows a 23 day onsite hybrid structure. Regular on-site presence is required to effectively support plant operations, leadership engagement, and workforce needs. Candidates must be willing to relocate and reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Markesan, Wisconsin facility. This role is not remote. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Education Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Safety Management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not required.
Requirements Experience as an HR Manager in a manufacturing environment. 10+ years of overall HR experience with progressive responsibilities. 7+ years of combined HR and EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong understanding of U.S. labor laws, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance standards. Proficiency in HRIS systems and data analytics. Knowledge Talent acquisition, employee development, and performance management HR best practices, policy administration, and workforce planning Compensation benchmarking, job evaluation, and workforce analytics Manufacturing workforce dynamics in hourly and shift-based environments Change management, organizational development, and succession planning EHS program development, regulatory compliance, safety training, and incident prevention Competencies Strategic HR planning and execution HR and EHS program management Talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies Performance management systems HR and EHS audit and compliance management HR and EHS leadership and culture building Regulatory compliance Drive for results Influence and impact Integrity Communication Conflict resolution
Responsibilities Human Resources Implement HR policies and procedures aligned with company objectives and legal requirements Manage recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to meet organizational needs Develop and execute talent strategies, including career development and succession planning Provide guidance to managers on performance management, coaching, and employee relations Promote open communication to ensure employees feel heard and valued Drive employee engagement through recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and DEI efforts Utilize HRIS systems and analytics for workforce planning and decision-making Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal standards
Responsibilities Environment, Health & Safety Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and regulatory standards Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions Provide training on workplace safety, emergency response, and environmental compliance Maintain documentation of safety programs, permits, and regulatory reporting Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all departments Collaborate with leadership to integrate EHS considerations into operational planning
