CPLC#s Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs are committed to giving every child, regardless of circumstances at birth, an opportunity to succeed in school and life. Provides full-day, full-year early childhood development services to low income children, ages 0-3 years, and their families in educationally-stimulating learning environments. Migrant Head Start program provides full-day, full-year program services to children, ages 0-5 years, of migrant and seasonal farm and agriculture working families where hand-picked and row crops are prevalent.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Education Coordinator plans, coordinates and monitors the delivery of Education Services to children per Head Start Program Performance Standards and ECD Content Area Plans # Procedures for CPLC#s statewide Early Childhood Development programs. Works closely with the following positions: Vice President, Regional Operation Managers, Planning # Development Coordinator, Education Specialists, other Content Coordinators and Specialists and Managers to collaboratively plan cross content integrated service within the classroom and throughout the program. Promotes school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success as it relates to this position. Actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments. Maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment. Facilitate health practices to keep children safe in the school bus, outdoor and indoor environments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Head Start Program Performance Standards require incumbent to have a Bachelor#s or advanced degree in early childhood education, with 5 years experience in an early childhood setting. Certification in Infant Toddler early care and education, English Language Learners and/or Special Education are preferred. Experience providing adult training/supervision and working with culturally diverse low-income families is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development and/or Head Start Program Performance Standards and Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007 is preferred. Experience in utilization and analysis of Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) is preferred. Use of computer, projection equipment, computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe) and web based systems are required. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
