We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Supervisor to support a leading acute care facility in New York, NY. This role is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, improving patient care outcomes, and ensuring staff performance aligns with organizational and regulatory standards. This is a contract opportunity with potential for extension.


Job Title: Nurse Supervisor

Location: New York City, New York, 10037

Pay: $85-90/hr

Shift: Day Shift (5x8 hours) 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Contract Duration: 14 weeks

Start Date: 05/04/2026


Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled nursing leader to supervise clinical teams and drive quality improvement initiatives across patient care units. The ideal candidate will collaborate with nurse managers, monitor staff performance, implement corrective actions when needed, and support program development to enhance patient care delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise nursing staff and oversee daily clinical operations

• Plan and develop programs to improve patient care and employee performance

• Monitor unit performance and ensure compliance with care standards

• Collaborate with nurse managers to assess workflows and implement corrective actions

• Develop and maintain systems for tracking medication errors and counseling documentation

• Support quality improvement, teaching, and training initiatives

• Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to hospital policies

• Promote effective communication across clinical teams and leadership



Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program (Master's preferred)

• Active RN License (New York State)

• BLS Certification required

• Minimum 7 years of nursing experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role

• Proven leadership and team management skills

• Experience in program planning, development, and performance monitoring

• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities

• Experience in community or teaching hospital settings preferred
