Job Description Summary: Assesses dental condition and needs of patient using patient screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting, and period charting. Delivers direct patient care using established dental hygienist procedures. Takes patient vital signs. Performs routine treatment procedures, such as cleaning and polishing. Takes, develops and mounts radiographs. Traces radiographs required for corrective treatment. Applies sealants and fluorides. Makes impressions of patients' teeth for study casts. Record keeping. Documents patient dental history or chief complaint. Records and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff. Documents lab procedures and ensuring follow up on results. Teaches clients how to prevent tooth decay and gum disease through proper diet and oral homecare. cleans and sterilizes instruments. Graduate of accredited dental hygiene program and licensed to practice in geographic region of employment. Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professional(s): N/A Computer software to be used: Outlook, Word, Excel Interview Mode: In person Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience: Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement: 3 years of experience working as a dental hygienist. NJ License as a Dental Hygienist issued by State Board of Dentistry. Desired skills: Job Duties Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Removes deposits and stains from supra and infra gingival portions of teeth, polishes teeth and applies anti cariogenic materials on all clients, including those with special needs. Performs dental hygiene functions; assists in the clinical and administrative functions of the dental program.
