Accounting Supervisor

Compensation Range: $64,934 to $81,168/annually, based on experience.
Job Objective:
The Accounting Supervisor is the primary overseer of AP & AR functions for the Trade Central. Responsible for assisting the AP & AR clerks with accurate and timely maintenance and processing of accounting transactions, bank reconciliations, journal entries & other duties as required.
Duties:

Essential Functions:
- Reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts
- Review & approve vendor, customer and item set-up
- Supervision of AR & AP personnel
- Research/resolve vendor payment statuses
- Research/resolve customer payment statuses
- Prepare & review of monthly journal entries as needed
- Assist in monthly reporting package preparation for Trade Council
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a backup in place for every critical operation.
- Run daily POS and sales routines. Compile results and share with management.
- Monitor credit card charges, payment discrepancies, refunds, returns and miscellaneous charges.
- Maintain and update general ledger and sales journals for the end of the month.
- Monitor employees so that all documents in the finance section are scanned and filed in a timely manner. Maintain an orderly financial filing system.
Offsite:
- Assist with packing/unpacking merchandise for off-site events. Attend offsite events.
- Travel to off-site events, set-up, operate, inventory and pack up off site store.
- Other assigned duties as needed
Other:
- Work year-end inventory.
Minimum Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent
experience.
Experience:
Three-Four years' experience in a similar finance role; Experience in a non-profit environment preferred but not required.
Financial reporting analysis experience preferred.
Skills:
Ability to speak read and write English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries and customers; and to perform the requirements of this job.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Billing Specialist/Store Clerk and Accounts Receivable/Inventory Specialist
Travel:
As needed five-six times per year. Must possess a valid IL driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle report.

- May stand for extended periods
Working Conditions:
The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet. Work is performed in a typical office environment. Full-time position may require some weekend and evening work and travel
