Summary:
The Behavioral Health Clinician III delivers direct care, assessments, and therapeutic services to individuals experiencing acute mental health and substance use challenges. Working within a collaborative, team-based environment, the clinician provides ongoing care management and clinical support through comprehensive assessment, care planning, implementation, and continuous evaluation of each individual's needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and risk evaluations for patients identified as having safety concerns risk.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the patient, family, and treatment team.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions using appropriate clinical modalities.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and support discharge planning.
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurses, and support staff to ensure cohesive care delivery.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed.
- Maintains a working knowledge of North Carolina state statutes related to the involuntary commitment process.
- Document clinical interactions and progress notes in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist patients and families in understanding treatment goals, discharge plans, and referrals to outpatient services.
- Coordinates and facilitates safe discharge plans by connecting individuals to appropriate community resources and support services.
- Provides guidance, training, and coaching to new staff and interns in accordance with established practice standards and program guidelines.
- Participates in the development of therapeutic unit programming aimed at improving patient outcomes.
Other information:
Required:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or other human services related field.
- Currently licensed in the state of North Carolina: (i.e. LCSW, LPC, LCMHC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
