<p>Apply for tomorrow’s opportunity today, with Volt</p> <p><b>Volt is immediately hiring for Automotive Metallurgy Specialist in Wauwatosa, WI,</b> </p> <p><b>As an Automotive Metallurgy Specialist</b><b>, </b>you will:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and set up test assemblies according to prescribed environmental exposure conditions, orienting samples to reflect expected vehicle installation position</li> <li>Conduct sequential environmental exposure testing</li> <li>Perform pre- and post-exposure Edge Adhesion Performance evaluations</li> <li>Conduct bond retention testing</li> <li>Evaluate and document induced failure modes including substrate failure, cohesive failure (foam or adhesive tear), and adhesive failure (clean peel)</li> <li>Apply chemical exposure agents (gasoline, motor oil, brake fluid, heated motor fluids up to 300°F) to adhesive bond edges per specified protocol, including 10-application sequence with minimum 1-minute rest intervals</li> <li>Capture and organize photographic evidence documenting assembly condition before environmental exposure begins, at inspection checkpoints, and after all post-exposure evaluations are complete</li> <li>Prepare structured test reports documenting pass/fail results, failure mode classifications, wet-out data, and required information per reporting format requirements</li> <li>Communicate test results and adhesion quality concerns directly to the requesting Design Engineer or Materials</li> </ul> <p>This is a full-time Contract opportunity.</p> <p><b>Required Skills:</b></p> <ul> <li>Background in automotive, powersports, or motorcycle component environments.</li> <li>Technical degree or certification in materials science, chemistry, mechanical technology, or a related field</li> <li>Capture photographic evidence, failure modes, and quantitative test results at each stage of testing</li> </ul> <p><b>Pay Range:</b> $35.00/hr to 40.00/hr</p> <p>*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.</p> <p>Qualified candidates should <b>APPLY NOW </b>for immediate consideration!
