Job Title: Security Officer (6pm - 6 am - Sat - Sun) We are seeking a dependable and vigilant Security Officer to protect our client's property, staff, and visitors during overnight hours. The ideal candidate will be alert, respectful, and proactive in maintaining a secure environment by preventing theft, vandalism, and other criminal activity. This role requires professionalism, excellent observation skills, and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately to a variety of situations, including emergencies. Officers must be prepared to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and operate in all weather conditions. Preferred: NC Guard Card Responsibilities: Patrol assigned premises regularly to maintain order and establish a strong security presence Monitor and authorize entrance and exit of people and vehicles Lock and secure doors, windows, gates, and other access points after hours Deter and remove trespassers or individuals engaging in unsafe or unlawful behavior Monitor CCTV and alarm systems for any signs of suspicious activity Investigate disturbances and notify appropriate authorities when necessary Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, including fire, medical, or security-related incidents Assist individuals in distress or requiring help, maintaining a customer-friendly attitude Provide clear and accurate written and verbal reports of all incidents, observations, and activities Stand or walk for extended periods during patrols Work in various environmental conditions, including rain, heat, cold, and wind Maintain professional composure during high-stress or emergency situations Follow safety procedures and company protocols at all times Requirements & Skills: Proven experience as a Security Officer or Security Guard Valid security license/registration as required by local or state laws High school diploma or equivalent Working knowledge of public safety laws and legal guidelines Proficient in using security equipment, smartphones, and surveillance systems Strong observational and decision-making skills Excellent verbal and written communication Capable of writing incident and shift reports clearly and accurately Certified in First Aid/BLS and trained in basic self-defense techniques (preferred) Physically fit: able to stand, walk, climb stairs, and remain alert for long periods Willingness to work in inclement weather and adapt to changing conditions Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and sound judgment at all times Ability to Commute: Waynesville, NC 28786 (Required) Work Location: In person Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $18 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
