Gardening Instructor - Primary School Summer Camp
Job Description
The International School of Texas is seeking a passionate and experienced Gardening Instructor to lead a Primary School Summer Camp focused on gardening. This position involves instructing children ages 5-10 during the week of June 22 to June 26, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily, at our Bee Cave, TX campus. The ideal candidate will develop engaging lesson plans that teach children how to maintain a garden, grow plants, and foster an appreciation for nature while providing a safe, organized, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
High School or equivalent
College degree preferred
Passion for and experience maintaining a garden
Experience working with children ages 5-10
Comfortable teaching in a school setting
Comfortable working outside - 3 hours per day
Responsibilities
Instruct Gardening Summer Camp option during the week of June 22 - June 26 from 9am-12pm
Develop lesson plan for each day of the week and instruct primary school children on maintaining a garden, growing plants, etc.
Organize class of students and keep focused on daily tasks and learning.
Supports and upholds the mission and values of the International School of Texas
Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
Communicate regularly with the Director of Activities
Continually monitors and supervises all activities of the participants
Follows school policies regarding safety guidelines
Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
Uses approved, corrective, and positive discipline procedures in dealing with inappropriate student conduct
Required to lift or carry equipment and supplies
Required to maintain composure
Benefits
$50/hour for a 15-hour week
