Job Description Job Description Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer Location: Rochester, NY 14623 (Onsite) Hire Type: Contract Shift: 8 hours day - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with some flexibility in that time range. Job Description The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical design/packaging electronics. The candidate will be required to meet with project stake holders on a regular basis to understand technical issues and develop solutions. Key Responsibilities - Independently, develops and implements concepts for range of significantly complex product issues and engineering solutions. - Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects and spearhead research and development of new technologies, as appropriate - Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of significantly complex engineering problems. - Specify or perform significantly complex engineering analysis. - Interface with internal and external customers regarding significantly complex engineering issues to address customers High Value Problems (HVP) for a range of products. - Generate product specifications. Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering tests. - Specify and review engineering documentation and engineering processes. Functional Knowledge - 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. - A minimum of 7 years' experience in mechanical engineering and design - Experienced in 3D CAD systems (NX) and Teamcenter is preferred. - Hands-on experience with mechanical development and design of high voltage products - Experience in analysis, testing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and root-causing electro-mechanical systems. - Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related software - You have good analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. - You are a team player and have the ability and self-motivation to learn quickly and independently. - You demonstrate strong technical leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high quality products while adhering to strict deadlines. - You foster an environment that welcomes and encourages new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents, and product opportunities for improvement.
