Accounting Manager

Location: Beverly Hills, CA (5 days onsite)

Compensation: Up to $140K base + bonus

The company is entering its next phase of growth, with a focus on scaling infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency, and building a more tech-enabled finance function. This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to contribute to the continued evolution of the accounting organization.

The Role

The Accounting Manager will play a key leadership role within the finance team, acting as a right hand to senior accounting leadership. This individual will own core aspects of the general ledger and close process while helping drive improvements across systems, processes, and team structure.

This is not a purely maintenance-focused role. It is designed for someone who can balance strong execution with a proactive mindset toward process improvement and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Controllership & Financial Operations

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Oversee journal entries, accruals, reserves, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and maintain strong internal controls
  • Perform detailed general ledger analysis and resolve discrepancies proactively
  • Support audit readiness and act as a key point of contact for external auditors

General Ledger Ownership

  • Take end-to-end ownership of GL functions across a team of six
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure financial results align with business activity
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements

Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Drive initiatives to improve close timelines, accuracy, and scalability
  • Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems and tools
  • Help transition manual processes into automated workflows
  • Contribute to building a more modern, technology-enabled accounting function

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and support accounting staff
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Partner with senior leadership on departmental initiatives

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Background in public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Hands-on, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset

Preferred

  • CPA
  • Experience in consumer products, apparel, or eCommerce
  • Exposure to system implementations or process improvement initiatives
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems

Tools & Environment

  • NetSuite (ERP)
  • Alteryx and other automation tools
  • Transitioning to a modern expense management platform
