Novant Health is seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to a diverse population of adult patients with a wide range of medical and post‑surgical conditions. You will be responsible for performing comprehensive assessments, developing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, effective, and timely patient recovery.

As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse at Novant Health, you will manage a dynamic patient load in a fast‑paced acute care environment. Your daily responsibilities will include monitoring vital signs and clinical status, initiating and maintaining IV therapies, performing wound and post‑operative care, managing pain and symptom relief, and recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition. You will coordinate care transitions and participate in discharge planning, ensuring that patients and families receive clear instructions, education, and support to continue care safely at home or in other settings.

You will document all assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately and efficiently within our electronic health record system, supporting continuity of care and adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. You will actively contribute to a culture of safety by following infection control practices, fall‑prevention protocols, and medication administration policies, and by speaking up for patient needs and concerns. you will partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, therapists, case managers, and support staff to coordinate holistic care that improves patient outcomes.
