Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Review customer contracts before and after execution to verify billing terms, fee structures, and ASC 606 compliance
• Track project progress and calculate monthly percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue recognition
• Determine how much revenue to recognize and how much to bill on a monthly basis across a portfolio of fixed-fee consulting engagements
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between contract terms and actual billing or revenue activity
• Partner cross-functionally with legal, sales, customer success, and project delivery teams to support accurate revenue reporting
• Exercise independent judgment on revenue recognition for projects with incomplete data or shifting timelines
• Support month-end close and maintain documentation to substantiate revenue positions

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of revenue accounting experience with direct exposure to POC or percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• Hands-on experience with fixed-fee project accounting and monthly percent-complete calculations
• Working knowledge of ASC 606; ability to apply it in a project-based, consulting-driven environment
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret customer contracts — scope, billing terms, and revenue implications
• Experience collaborating with non-accounting stakeholders (project managers, sales, customer success)
• Comfortable making judgment-based decisions with incomplete or evolving information
• Experience with NetSuite or PSA tools preferred; SaaS or consulting industry background a strong plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus but not required
