Gaming - Finance and Ops Internship

This is a four month long paid internship that is an opportunity to work on high level leadership, finance and strategy tasks for a gaming marketing agency with venture capital backing.

This role is 80% remote - one in office day per week is required in Salt Lake City Utah.

The goal at the end of the internship is a full time position.

This role is working directly with the leadership team and CEO on finance and strategy, biz dev ops, gaming publishing projects and more.

We are looking for those who are diligent and enjoy a collaborative work environment. Interest in gaming is highly preferred.

Most important is the ability to work within a team in an organized manner. We want to talk to those who are passionate and interested in gaming!

Candidates must currently be enrolled in school or recently graduated. This internship is designed only for seniors or recent grads.

Math skills and finance analysis is a required ability.

This is a full time internship and the goal is full time employment or placement within the gaming industry at the conclusion of the internship.

This internship is best designed for MBA students, business majors, or finance grads with an interest in strategy. However all degrees are welcome - including game design degrees.

There will also be some office tasks required like paperwork, insurance, taxes, etc.

This role will also work with the business development team on contracts, publishing projects selection, and gaming financial forecasts including in live service games.

Preferred Skill Sets:

• Basic Financial Analysis required
• Ability to understand a profit and loss statement.
• Ability to build simple gaming sales forecasts.
• Ability to learn monetization and live ops math and calculations as well as subscriber models.
• Entry level experience with gaming markets
• Empathy and skill for understanding gamers and their communities
• A heart for team culture and dynamics
• Note - VAL works on some AI projects, and is a cautiously AI forward company. Some work on AI projects is required as part of this role.
• Candidates will be required to complete a math and finance assessment.
