About the Finance Coordinator

Manhattan Strategies is seeking a Finance Coordinator to support the firm’s day-to-day financial operations, billing processes, and internal financial organization. This role is intended for a highly reliable, detail-oriented professional who can help ensure the financial engine of the business runs cleanly, accurately, and on time.

The Finance Coordinator will work closely with leadership, including the Director of Operations and external accounting partners, to support invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget tracking, and finance administration across the firm. This role exists to help ensure the firm’s financial operations keep pace with its growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Billing, Invoicing & Accounts Receivable (40%): Prepare and issue client invoices, maintain billing schedules, track receivables, and follow up on outstanding payments. Ensure invoicing is timely, accurate, and aligned with client terms, while maintaining clear records and visibility into collections activity.
  • Accounts Payable, Financial Administration & Recordkeeping (35%): Support vendor payments, invoice entry, approval coordination, expense tracking, and general finance administration. This includes maintaining organized records, supporting reconciliations, coordinating documentation with external accounting partners, and ensuring the firm’s financial records remain current and orderly.
  • Budget Tracking & Reporting Support (25%): Support internal budget tracking and financial reporting by maintaining spreadsheets, updating trackers, pulling reports, and helping leadership stay organized around spend, client budgets, and recurring financial workflows. Help ensure information is accurate, accessible, and up to date.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance coordination, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or similar roles, preferably in a professional services, agency, or consultancy environment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong follow-through; a track record of catching errors and raising questions before they escalate
  • Experience supporting invoicing, billing, AP/AR, or finance administration in a multi-client or project-based environment
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage recurring deadlines with accuracy and consistency
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment where priorities can shift quickly
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working in financial spreadsheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and data tracking
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred
  • Clear, direct written and verbal communication style; comfortable asking clarifying questions and flagging ambiguity
  • Ability to think critically about process and proactively suggest improvements to recurring workflows
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required with relevant experience
