Special Education Teacher - High School Location: Accelerated Learning Center Elevated Academy - Phoenix Learning Centers (DRP Campuses) - District Office Position OverviewElevated Education is seeking a high-capacity, mission-driven Special Education Teacher to serve high school students across our network, including both traditional and Dropout Recovery Program (DRP) settings.This is a service-focused role responsible for delivering high-quality special education instruction and support across multiple campuses. The position will primarily be based at the Accelerated Learning Center, while also traveling to Phoenix-area learning centers, supporting virtual students, and collaborating with the district office.This role is designed for an educator who can operate effectively in non-traditional environments, support some of our most at-risk students, and ensure services are delivered with consistency, urgency, and quality.This position is focused on serving students, not writing IEPs. The teacher will implement IEPs, deliver services, and contribute to meetings. (meetings primarily during working hours)Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Instruction & InterventionProvide specialized instruction aligned to existing IEP goals for high school studentsDeliver push-in and pull-out services across campuses and virtual environmentsImplement targeted interventions to address academic gaps and accelerate progressMonitor student progress and adjust instruction to ensure effective service deliverySupport students in building independence, engagement, and pathways to graduationCollaboration & Staff SupportPartner with general education teachers, mentors, and site leaders to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectivelySupport staff in working with students who may have significant academic gaps, behavioral challenges, or inconsistent attendanceProvide guidance on differentiation, behavior supports, and instructional strategiesAct as a consistent special education presence across campuses to ensure alignment in service deliveryIEP Participation & Compliance SupportParticipate in IEP meetings (annual reviews, re-evaluations, and updates) that are scheduled during regular school hoursProvide input on student progress, present levels, and service effectivenessImplement IEPs with fidelity and ensure services are delivered as requiredMaintain accurate and timely service documentationCollaborate with the IEP Coordinator and Special Education Director, who are responsible for IEP development and case managementProgram & Organizational SupportTravel between campuses and the district office to ensure consistent service deliveryProvide support for virtual students, ensuring access to required servicesAssist in strengthening systems and consistency of special education services across the networkSupport compliance monitoring and audit readiness through accurate documentation and service deliveryContribute to a culture of accountability, urgency, and student-centered executionQualificationsValid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate Experience working with high school studentsStrong understanding of IEP implementation and special education service deliveryAbility to deliver differentiated instruction in both in-person and virtual settingsStrong organizational and time management skills across multiple campusesPreferred QualificationsExperience in alternative education or dropout recovery programsExperience working with at-risk, disengaged, or credit-deficient studentsBackground in behavior intervention and trauma-informed practicesAbility to collaborate and influence across teamsWhat Makes This Role UniqueThis is a network-wide, service-first role.
