Job Details

This role supports electrical reliability across a large-scale manufacturing operation with a strong emphasis on industrial crane systems and critical production equipment. The Electrical Technician will troubleshoot, maintain, and improve electrical and control systems while partnering closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. This position plays a key role in plant safety, equipment uptime, and long-term asset reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment through active participation in safety programs and adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards
  • Provide hands-on electrical troubleshooting and support for both planned and unplanned equipment outages across production areas
  • Support, diagnose, and repair complex systems including industrial cranes, Allen-Bradley PLCs, RSLogix platforms, AC and DC drives, and specialized production equipment such as melt furnaces
  • Partner with engineering teams on equipment tune-ups, commissioning, and validation of new or modified systems
  • Serve as a technical resource for operations and maintenance teams by training and mentoring supervisors and craftspeople
  • Support skill development initiatives by helping design and deliver electrical training plans
  • Lead development and documentation of standard operating procedures, work instructions, and related technical documentation for new and existing equipment
  • Provide technical input into preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Recommend and implement control system and equipment improvements to enhance reliability and equipment life
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and ensure thorough documentation and record retention of technical issues
  • Support critical spare parts identification and management
  • Apply continuous improvement and stability tools to daily work to strengthen maintenance processes

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of three years of electrical experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Ability to pass an electrical proficiency exam
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship, four years of on-the-job training, or an electrical degree from an accredited technical or trade school
  • Broad industrial electrical experience with a strong preference for industrial crane systems
  • Experience working with medium and high voltage systems
  • Experience with industrial network and communication systems
  • Strong ability to read electrical schematics, troubleshoot to root cause, and restore equipment functionality efficiently
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, including AC and DC motors and variable frequency drives
  • Experience with combustion systems or commercial and industrial boiler systems
  • Working knowledge of process control and instrumentation principles

Work Schedule:
This position requires flexibility based on operational needs. Typical hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, with off-shift support required as needed.
