Key Responsibilities of the Regulatory Compliance Specialist
  • Research, interpret, and monitor compliance requirements from NERC, SERC, and associated Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Programs (CMEP) as the Regulatory Compliance Specialist
  • Support member utilities by providing guidance on compliance standards, participating in peer reviews, assisting with audits, and communicating regulatory risks as the Regulatory Compliance Specialist
  • Support the Agency’s Internal Compliance Program (ICP) by partnering with engineering, generation, operations, and planning teams to ensure ongoing NERC compliance as the Regulatory Compliance Specialist
  • Oversee and maintain the Agency’s compliance document management system, ensuring documentation accuracy and audit readiness as the Regulatory Compliance Specialist
  • Participate in industry committees, task forces, workshops, and internal projects to stay ahead of evolving regulatory requirements as the Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Qualifications for the Regulatory Compliance Specialist
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, business, legal studies, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience preferred, ideally within electric utilities or similarly regulated industries
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations, standards, compliance documentation, and the ability to build effective relationships with industry professionals and stakeholders
