Openings: 2DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology (BMT) position requiring at least 1 year of oncology experience, Epic proficiency, and an OH or compact RN license.Details
Mixed acuity PCU and MS unit within a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) setting at an academic medical center
Patient population includes a wide range of hematologic malignancies such as ALL, AML, CLL, CML, Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Aplastic Anemia, Amyloidosis, and related disorders
Special procedures include autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
Skills utilized include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC and peripheral line management, feeding tube care, and nasal cannula administration
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
Epic EMR experience is required
16-week contractRequirements
Valid OH state RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience required; experience must fall within the 3 most recent years with at least 1 year of current specialty experience
Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
Prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers may be screened on a case-by-case basis)
2 professional references required: at least 1 from a manager, director, or formal leadership role; a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference; coworker references are not acceptedAdditional Information
Hematologic oncology nursing care including management of stem cell transplant patients and those receiving CAR-T therapy
Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
Former facility employees are eligible after a minimum 6-month separation from the facility
Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible for travel assignments
All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application and will be built into the contract
Ohio fingerprinting is required and must be completed as soon as possible after contract signing - candidates should be prepared to act quickly given processing timelines
Candidates currently outside Ohio may need to drive to an in-state fingerprinting location; those at greater distances will receive a mail-in fingerprinting packet to be completed urgentlyAmerican Traveler Job ID .
