ADKX Plumber/Electrician - FT Year-Round

The Adirondack Experience (ADKX) in Blue Mountain Lake is one of upstate New York’s major cultural institutions and is nestled right in the heart of the Adirondacks. Offering four seasons of outdoor recreation, surrounded by serene landscape, and cozy small towns, the ADKX offers something for everyone who enjoys the serenity of the Adirondack Park. The ADKX is a seasonal museum open from Memorial Day weekend through Indigenous People’s Day.
The ADKX is seeking a versatile Plumber/Election to join our Facilities team. This role is critical in maintaining the infrastructure of our historic/modern campus. The role balances managing the day to day operations of electrical and plumbing systems with the unique need to work carefully around valuable collections and provide support for museum-specific events and exhibits. Weekend work may be required as well as occasional evening events. Entry level Plumber/Electricians welcome to apply. Professional development opportunities available.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor the museum's electrical, plumbing, wastewater treatment, HVAC and security systems.
- Inspect buildings and grounds as per schedule for security, lights and system functions.
- Assist with setup of equipment for events and programs. Disassemble items once event is completed.
- Assist in managing the parking of cars on busy days during open season.
- Respond to visitor/campus emergencies as needed.
- Pick up mail as per schedule.
- Manage fire drills, first aid kits and annual safety inspections.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience working with electrical, plumbing, wastewater, HVAC and security systems.
- Be able to manage time efficiently and work on multiple, simultaneous projects.
- Be able to work independently and within a team.
- Have general knowledge of and ability to learn/perform routine electrical and plumbing tasks.
- Have general knowledge of OSHA standards.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook and Excel) required to track and report data.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
