Direct Counsel is partnering with a prestigious AmLaw 10 law firm to identify a Litigation Associate to join its Washington, DC office. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys seeking to work on high-stakes complex commercial litigation matters within a nationally recognized litigation practice.
Associates in this role will gain experience handling sophisticated disputes in both state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. The position offers the opportunity to work alongside leading litigators on significant matters across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist with all phases of complex commercial litigation, including case development and strategy
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda
• Conduct legal research and factual investigations
• Support discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
• Participate in arbitrations and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on high-profile litigation matters

Qualifications

• 1-6 years of complex commercial litigation experience
• Experience litigating in state and federal courts
• Familiarity with arbitration and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Outstanding academic credentials
• Admission to the District of Columbia Bar required

Compensation
