Position Overview

• We are seeking a Litigation Attorney (2-6 years' experience) with civil defense litigation background, preferably in medical malpractice, to join our Downtown Long Beach office. This role offers the opportunity to manage an active caseload and work in a collaborative, collegial environment supporting sophisticated litigation matters.
• Manage an active civil litigation caseload
• Propound and respond to written discovery
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft motions and appear for law and motion hearings
• Prepare case evaluations and client status reports
• Conduct legal research and prepare litigation strategy materials
• Collaborate with partners and clients on case development

Qualifications

• 2-6 years of civil defense litigation experience
• Medical malpractice defense experience preferred
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Experience handling discovery and depositions
• Ability to manage cases independently and proactively
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Active California Bar membership required
