This is an opportunity for a mid-career attorney ready to take on meaningful, complex matters, work collaboratively with a talented team, and grow within a firm that values its people.
The Opportunity
We operate a dynamic litigation practice and need an attorney who can hit the ground running. You will handle sophisticated disputes for business and individual clients across a range of subject matters, with genuine autonomy and direct client contact from day one. If you are energized by courtroom work, skilled at navigating complex commercial disputes, and looking for a firm where your contributions are recognized, we want to hear from you.
Practice Areas
The position centers on litigation across several practice areas, including:
• Commercial contract disputes, including breach of contract claims, business torts, and complex civil litigation
• Employment litigation, including defense of wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour, restrictive covenant, and trade secret matters
• Probate and estate disputes, including will contests, fiduciary litigation, and contested conservatorships
• General civil litigation supporting the firm’s broader practice needs
Qualifications
We are targeting attorneys with 5–15 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will bring:
• A substantial litigation background with demonstrated courtroom and hearing experience, including depositions, motions practice, and trial or arbitration participation
• Experience in one or more of the following: commercial/contract disputes, probate and estate litigation, or employment litigation
• Connecticut and Federal bar admission
• Strong writing, advocacy, and client communication skills
• The ability to manage matters independently while working collaboratively within the firm
• Prior experience at a litigation boutique or full-service firm with significant commercial litigation volume
• Familiarity with corporate or business law matters (supporting clients with contract review, negotiations, or business disputes) ideal, but not required.
• An existing client following or portable business is welcomed, but not required.
Why ZCCDG?
