Job Position: Substitute Crossing Guard - Fairmont Elementary School
Description: The Crossing Guard provides supervision and assistance to students crossing streets. May also provide traffic control.
Job Summary:
1. Assists and directs students crossing streets in order to provide a safe environment for students to walk to school.
2. Provides supervision of students in the immediate area of the school crossing and while the student is crossing the street so that students cross the street in an orderly manner.
3. Reports traffic violations to the school principal.
4. Reports student behavior problems to the school principal.
5. Suggests improvements in the procedures for students who walk to school and cross the street so that safety methods are continually evaluated and revised if appropriate.
6. Promotes safety at all times to minimize accidents.
Qualifications:
1. Ability to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff
2. Willingness to accept and follow directions.
3. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
4. No experience required.
5. Weather appropriate clothing required.
6. Safety vest and stop flag will be provided
Work Schedule and Salary:
1. Daily hours during the school year calendar consist of: 7:45am - 8:15am and 2:45pm - 3:30pm
2. $15.00 an hour with a minimum of 2 paid hours daily
