Job Description

Primary Duties

Student and Program Support
  • Provides comprehensive administration for CSU Pueblo operations at Ft. Carson Education Center including maintaining policies and procedures, assisting staff and students in choosing courses to support student success and conversions to degree-seeking status, instructing students on the procedures for applying for admission, financial aid, registration, student support services, paying for courses and securing payment verification.
  • Serves as a liaison for students using TA benefits, instructing and advising them on the proper procedures when applying for Active-Duty Military Tuition Assistance (TA).
  • Coordinates student support and the tracking of active-duty students and billing processes of students using TA; this also includes the updating of CSU Pueblo programs and tuition and fees in all military branch portals as required by each military branch.
  • Enters grades for active-duty soldiers in the military portals.
  • Creates and loads degree plans in TA portals. Assists students, staff, and faculty in accessing courses and the CSU Pueblo office at Fort Carson.
  • Actively establishes positive working relationships with partner/site system staff members to support program efficacy and growth.
Recruitment and Outreach
  • Coordinates with colleagues in the Division of Enrollment Management to support recruitment and conversion of prospective students.
  • Provides proactive outreach to military, veteran, and civilian communities to promote courses at Ft. Carson or other CSU Pueblo locations.
  • Coordinates with other units to create and distribute marketing materials for outreach opportunities, including but not limited to fairs, community outreach activities, and community college partnerships.
Instructional and Operational Support
  • Works with Extended Studies to ensure classes have adequate space and technology resources for instruction.
  • Serves as a liaison for faculty, coordinating base access requirements and providing on-site orientation and support, including assistance with basic technology when needed.
  • Supports the Military and Veteran Success Center by serving as a back-up school certifying official and processing benefit certification requests as needed.
  • Assists with the planning and coordination of Military and Veteran Success Center events.

Ancillary Duties

Division and University Affairs
  • Works to meet the expectations of the university's mission and vision. Serves on ad-hoc and standing committees as needed.
  • Recruits, schedules, trains, and supervises student workers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Eligibility to secure and retain Fort Carson installation access credentials for unescorted entry, subject to required background screening
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and enterprise information systems
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Minimum 1 year full time professional work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • School Certifying Official Training
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex processes across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of college admissions, advising, enrollment, and financial aid procedures.
  • Knowledge of military data systems
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience working with competing priorities and multiple time-sensitive projects
  • Experience working with active military and military family members
  • Experience working with exterior partners and diverse student populations

Salary

$35,100 to $38,000
