The Summer Community Engagement Coordinator supports the successful planning and delivery of Kid Power DC's summer programming by strengthening communication, partnerships, and family engagement. This role focuses on building connections between families, schools, and community partners to ensure a well-coordinated and inclusive summer experience. This position is a service role designed to expand program capacity and enhance community impact. The Coordinator does not supervise staff but plays a key role in supporting logistics, communication, and event execution.
Member Duties : Program Preparation Support planning and coordination of summer programming logistics; Help develop and distribute family communications Prepare materials and resources; Community & Family Engagement Support planning and execution of family engagement events; Assist in developing and sharing family resources; Help coordinate community-based initiatives (e.g., produce pop-ups or similar efforts); Serve as a point of contact for basic partner and family communications; Facilitate smooth transitions between partner-led activities during programming; Provide on-site logistical and coordination support; Assist with maintaining clear communication between staff, partners, and families
