Qualifications

Must have reading, writing, and math skills comparable to those obtained with a high school education and exhibit high level computer and trouble-shooting skills. Must have experience with current PdM software, completing vibration reading routes, analyzing vibration readings data, RCFA (5 Why), rebuilding rotating equipment and following rebuild procedures. Grade is commensurate with experience, skill, and demonstrated capability in job. Grade 10 must also have level II certification in Vibration Analysis per ISO 18436-2 by 6 months after accepting this position. Grade 12 must also have level III certification in Vibration Analysis per ISO 18436-2.

Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing equipment inspections, PMs, and technical service to ensure the reliability of stationary, electrical, and mechanical equipment. This position is responsible for conducting data analysis, troubleshooting, and initiating work memos for replacement, repair, or corrective work. This position may participate in other reliability functions such as training, failure analysis, preventive maintenance optimization, and reliability centered maintenance projects. Job functions must be carried out in an environmentally sound and safe manner, consistent with company policies. Callout for unscheduled inspections or technical service are part of this job function.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  1. Conduct scheduled inspections and other preventive maintenance of stationary, electrical, or mechanical equipment and property to ensure reliability and to meet schedule attainment goals.
  2. Conduct data analysis to determine appropriate course of action to prevent failures and initiates work memos.
  3. Communicate concerns for any eminent danger or eminent failure discovered through inspection processes in a timely manner. Makes recommendations for preventing such danger or failures.
  4. Report results of equipment inspection to appropriate parties (written and oral).
  5. Maintains historical records of data analysis and inspection details (also meeting requirements for PSM and RMP).
  6. Continuously optimizes inspection PMs and PdMs to improve equipment reliability and develops new PM/PdMs.
  7. Participate in reliability functions such as preventative maintenance, failure analysis, or providing technical assistance, reliability centered maintenance projects and training.
  8. Conduct callouts for unscheduled inspections to meet plant needs.
  9. Assist in continuous improvement of workflow processes and supporting systems for reliability activities.
  10. Ensure effectiveness or preventive and predictive maintenance activities with follow-up on replacement, repair or corrective work.
  11. Travel domestic and foreign operations as required, providing start-up, trouble-shooting, and technical assistance.
  12. Regularly utilizes higher level predictive maintenance skills to optimize reliability of equipment assets.
  13. Provide trouble-shooting services for prevention of failures for stationary, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
  14. Assist with the development of new technologies, controls, software, and test equipment.
  15. Attend training to continue educational growth in job relates skills and stay current with new technology, software, programming, and analysis methods.
