Summary You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (NUCLEAR) in the NUCLEAR PRODUCTION MANAGER DEPARTMENT, of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing to document quality findings and propose improvements. You will maintain strong problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and addressing quality issues. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in using computer tools for data analysis, reporting, and managing quality control processes. You will investigate the causes of rework and recommends appropriate action to reduce or prevent recurrence of deficiencies or quality problems. You will develop and implement integrated quality data collection system. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience planning, preparing, initiating, and coordinating improved quality and process nuclear-related projects as they relate to NRMD PL. Experience developing, planning, and implementing quality assurance requirements for products, services, processes, and systems relating to nuclear and reactor plant work. Experience applying a broad and comprehensive knowledge of quality principles and practices and have an extensive understanding of production management, inspection, and quality control processes. Experience leading failure analysis team investigations to determine cause of quality problems and to propose appropriate preventative actions. Experience collecting, monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting nuclear and non-nuclear statistical quality data, audit findings, and rework expenditures to detect unsatisfactory, common trends, and serious quality problems or conditions.
