Under supervision of Agriculture/Rodeo faculty and staff, and in cooperation with the FRC maintenance staff, maintain equine and rodeo facility, equipment in a clean and functional manner, including repairs and maintenance. Keep livestock in good health.

• Speech and hearing to communicate efficiently
• Manual dexterity to operate and repair equipment
Salary Range
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units in corresponding semester. Must present appropriate documentation that establishes identity and employment authorization.
Hourly Rate
Minimum Wage
Desirable Qualifications
• Agriculture Major with plans to transfer to 4 year institution majoring in Agriculture Mechanics or related field
• Completion of high school
• Experience working with horses and heavy machinery
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy work environment
Essential Duties
• Ensure all feeders are in working order, standing upright, clean manager of old hay, weeds and foreign objects; move feeders frequently to avoid soggy feed areas and wasted feed.
• Drag and water arenas and round corral during school year as needed. Supervisor will advise of equipment necessary to complete task.
• Repair fencing as necessary. Check areas for hazards (i.e. nails, broken panels, stalls, etc.)
• Remove manure in and around cement areas daily. Scrape dry lots and catch pens as necessary to remove manure and improve drainage.
• Empty garbage cans minimum of once each week at designated dumpsite.
• Repair and maintenance of stalls, water, fence, feed vehicles tractors and tools must be done in a timely manner.
• Put away all tack (halters, grooming, tools, etc.), at the end of each day. Make sure to lock up all tack areas.
• Remove snow from feeding and common use areas when needed.
• Ensure proper drainage of facility and dry-lots during rain/snow storms.
• Weed eat and/or spray weeds using chemicals safely.
• Feed livestock in a timely manner and when assigned to do so.
